whentostop Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Has anyone been accepted to a UNH program and heard about funding? I was accepted to the MA in literature and they told me I wouldn't hear about TAship or fellowship until next month. Are they saying this because they have already offered to some, but are not sure who will accept? Or are they really not making those decisions yet?
polisciapp Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 I know someone accepted into a PhD program there, but this person has not yet received info on funding.
whentostop Posted February 24, 2008 Author Posted February 24, 2008 Well, that is reassuring...somewhat.
whentostop Posted February 27, 2008 Author Posted February 27, 2008 Apparently they will not make any funding decisions until the 26th of March. But the visitor's weekend is the 30th or so. I don't know if I want to visit, if there is not going to be any funding for the program, especially as it is an MA acceptance (which makes me fairly certain they will not pay for the trip). Maybe that is a mistaken assumption. Not that many people seem involved in this thread, but just in case another New Hampshire person is out there.
Philmajor Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 I would give them a call. Explain your situation and see if they might be able to scrape together a few dollars for your flight. The school may also have it set-up so that you bunk with one of the grad students.
