PsyDHopeful Posted March 29, 2010 Posted March 29, 2010 I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about the program? I just interviewed there and I was really impressed with the faculty, but I'm not familiar with program outside of my interview experience. Thanks.
dailydose Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about the program? I just interviewed there and I was really impressed with the faculty, but I'm not familiar with program outside of my interview experience. Thanks. Back before applying to schools I looked at the PCOM website... And had to shake my head in wonderment. I find the model of training, where students get "hands on" experience with people trained to portray mental health patients, bunk. There is no reason to get your toes wet that gradually. In my admitedly far from humble opinion, if you're frightened by the prospect of working with real patients (either frightened of messing up their life, or of not being able to "handle the stress," or whatever -- and I do mean "whatever" in the most sweeping sense possible), you absolutely need to question your motivations for getting into this line of work.
