I'm just wondering if I should completely lose hope for this application. I submitted it well before the deadline, which was in early December, but a LOR was submitted after the deadline (which I was hoping wouldn't be an issue. The program's page says that they will contact you if materials are missing, and they never did, which I thought was an indication that it was fine?). From the results page, I can tell that the program has already contacted admitted applicants, so I expect rejection. However, I checked my application on ApplyWeb the other day (wondering if I had been rejected and somehow not gotten an email notification?), and my application status still says "Ready for Review"??
I literally DON'T KNOW what to make of this information. Did the adcom ... not even look at my application? I didn't expect to be accepted (and I've gotten into other programs so I guess I don't *need* it), but it'd be heartbreaking if they didn't. I put so much work into it. But since they've already accepted applicants, they must have already reviewed the applications, but mine says that they haven't. What does a "ready for review" status mean?? Is it not what I think it does?? Should I email the program? I feel rather foolish because it's March already, so I should have checked sooner, I suppose. Should I just give up hope? (What am I even hoping for at this point? Admission is not a possibility, but I'd at least like the official rejection letter to put me out of my misery...) Did my later LOR doom all prospect of the adcom even giving my app a glance? Is that normal? Does anyone have any advice??
(It's my first post! Sorry if I did something wrong! I'll fix it if I can.)
