BethW Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Hey everyone! I just accepted my offer to CU Boulder and I'm excited to meet other people who made the same (amazing) decision. I'm a sociology doctoral student relocating to Boulder from Boston. Anyone else out there??
sociolog86 Posted April 2, 2010 Posted April 2, 2010 (edited) hi Beth, congrats! This is Sky (remember making fun of those girls at the bar who didn't even want to e there). I'm so happy for you getting in. One of the profs told me the week after the visit that they'd only be able to accept 4 applicants so I (at their advisement) took another offer for the Masters at the University of South Florida. A sizeable fellowship offered by USF was contigent on making an early decision, and it was far too much to pass up. It'll be good though, the average high temp in January is 70 in Tampa! Email me if you want, i'd love to keep in touch! Edited April 2, 2010 by sociolog86
sew8d Posted April 10, 2010 Posted April 10, 2010 Hey Beth, I'll be attending CU Boulder in the fall as well! I'm going to be starting my Masters in Spanish Literature, and am also relocating from the east coast (NC/VA). How are you going about apartment hunting? I'm lucky to have a friend in the Denver area who will scout for me if need be, but I've mostly been searching craigslist and CU's search engine too.

Apartment hunting hasn't begun yet, but I plan on trying to knock it out in a weekend. Idealistic, probably...they gave us some free company to use at our open house, house hunters, and they'll help you look. If you want, I'll look around for the business card. I'm also trying to figure out when to move out there, aka leave my job! See you in Colorado! Beth
Rudy2009 Posted May 16, 2010 Posted May 16, 2010 Hey everyone! I just accepted my offer to CU Boulder and I'm excited to meet other people who made the same (amazing) decision. I'm a sociology doctoral student relocating to Boulder from Boston. Anyone else out there?? Hi, Beth, I will be starting the Master's program in history this fall and I am relocating from Chicago. I have started apartment hunting via rental sites, but will be meeting with a relocation agent in Boulder with my parents in June to make the final decision on a place. The relocation agent was found through my father's work contacts, so I don't have information on specifically how to find one; I'm sure agents can be found on the web if anyone is interested in that method. Good luck preparing to move! If you (or any other Boulder students on this discussion thread) ever wish to contact me, you can do so at petrovich.lisa@gmail.com. I'm so excited for the fall! Lisa
