Cali124 Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 I'd like to start a thread for folks who've attended an admitted student day to share their experience and give any advice to others who've yet to go to theirs. Did it help you make a decision about whether or not to attend? What aspects of the Admit Day was the most useful? Thanks!
Katzenmusik Posted March 30, 2010 Posted March 30, 2010 Yes! I've been to several. The most valuable part was the opportunity to talk with current students, off-the-record, about their experience in the program. You'll learn useful things you might not necessarily learn from the faculty or the department web site. Also I enjoyed meeting faculty in person and the opportunity to sit in on a few classes. My visits are definitely influencing my decision.
Nibor6000 Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Absolutely attend if you can. I went to three visits over the course of a week. Each university was VERY different. The visits made my decision very easy.

Thanks! i just got back from columbias admitted student say for the school of social work. it was great, very helpful but you definitely do not need to stay the entire day. i left during lunch and it was enough time to make me fall in love with the program!
