postit Posted March 31, 2010 Posted March 31, 2010 Could anyone fill me in on the reputation of Rutgers' CITE program? By reputation I mean happiness of PhD students, quality of profs and courses, rankings, job placements, etc. Thanks in advance.
ariel Posted April 15, 2011 Posted April 15, 2011 Have you heard any responses to this? I was about to post the same question about Rutgers' CITE. Could anyone fill me in on the reputation of Rutgers' CITE program? By reputation I mean happiness of PhD students, quality of profs and courses, rankings, job placements, etc. Thanks in advance.
samjones Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 their program is decent, the program seemed pretty small and intimate, and the campus is in a relatively small city/town. apparently there are a few good, staple places that students hang out at... but i would guess they'd also be crowded with undergraduates, which may not be a problem if those undergraduates are generally mature and aren't acting like drunken messes! i applied to the CITE track and would have had a hard time deciding between my program and that program if i hadn't gotten off Rutgers' waitlist.
a154c Posted May 6, 2011 Posted May 6, 2011 If I remember correctly, Rutgers anthro has always been pretty top notch in terms of 4-field takes on topics that are "evolutionary" at least in terms of epistemology. I've always though Schrire is particularly good. The University as a whole has allegedly suffered with its entrance into big-time NCAA sports (there's a book about it: Confessions of a Spoilsport)--but so have a lot of large public schools.
