djad206 Posted April 4, 2010 Share Posted April 4, 2010 The open house was pretty cool. I along with several other students sat in on some classes and that is what stuck out for me the most. It is encouraging to know that there is room in the core courses to pursue your policy interests. I also enjoyed the student panel. Someone asked a hard question and the students answered honestly. Some felt their professors were a little to focused on research rather than mentoring them. This is good to know. This is okay with me as I am interested in learning to conduct research as a job rather than working for a legislator or with a government entity. All in all I was impressed. I am leaning towards the Evans School for sure. With that said I'm sending this message from Minneapolis (I live in Seattle). I am here for the Humphrey Institute's open house for admitted MURP students on Monday. I'm sort of feeling the Twin Cities at the moment.
