Gates Cambridge 2020-2021 Question

Hi all,

I am currently applying to the Gates Cambridge Scholarship (MPhil Health Medicine and Society) for the upcoming cycle (2020-2021), and I'm in the process of writing my statement of purpose.

I was wondering if the Gates Cambridge SoP completely separate from the MPhil program SoP? Does the Gates admission committee see both the MPhil and Gates SoP, or will the Gates admissions just see the Gates? I want to reuse a hook that I really like, but I'm not sure if I will be dinged for doing so.

I'm pretty sure they see both. When you apply to Cambridge, the Gates statement is one section of the whole application form, so the entire committee at Cambridge sees all of it as does the Gates committee. Don't reuse things!
