SnowSnowSnow Posted October 11, 2019 Posted October 11, 2019 Does anyone have some insights into which stats or applied math departments have some good information theory researchers? I've seen that Wharton stats and Stanford stats have some people, but it's a difficult topic to try to figure out because Google pretty much just brings up electrical engineering departments.
bayessays Posted October 11, 2019 Posted October 11, 2019 Yeah, it's not a big topic in stats departments (honestly almost non existent) so you'll be lucky to find one or two people in the top theoretical departments but that's about it. I'd painstakingly look through everyone at the top 20 departments (especially the top 10) as well as other Ivys like Cornell and Yale and see what you find, which is probably what you've been doing. Some departments will have some people with cross-appointments in EE which is your best bet probably.
