CV teaching experience, what about volunteering?

I am aiming for mathematics PhD programs, and I am wondering if I can use my volunteering experience teaching mathematics to 8th graders in the CV. The volunteer lasted about a year and a half. Would it be better to omit it since it was nothing like a lecturer in a university?
