hectron3030 Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 What do folks know about this PhD program (in comp. Lit.)? It certainly looks good but is it a "top" program? I've heard as much but am not completely certain. Thanks

I've heard as much but am not completely certain. Thanks I'll be starting the English PhD program there this fall. I'm not a comp lit person so I'm not sure how helpful I can be, but if you're studying anything to do with theory or poetics SUNY Buffalo is a great place to be. It's a very innovative department and they give their grad students a lot of freedom (no required courses, no language requirements, very easy to take classes outside of the department, etc.) I'm going there for digital studies, which is a relatively new thing for them. As far as rankings go, I don't know if I'd call it a "top" school (though what that means really varies from person to person) but it's pretty well respected from what I understand.
