hectron3030 Posted April 8, 2010 Posted April 8, 2010 What do folks know about this PhD program (in comp. Lit.)? It certainly looks good but is it a "top" program? I've heard as much but am not completely certain. Thanks

I'm not a comp lit person so I'm not sure how helpful I can be, but if you're studying anything to do with theory or poetics SUNY Buffalo is a great place to be. It's a very innovative department and they give their grad students a lot of freedom (no required courses, no language requirements, very easy to take classes outside of the department, etc.) I'm going there for digital studies, which is a relatively new thing for them. As far as rankings go, I don't know if I'd call it a "top" school (though what that means really varies from person to person) but it's pretty well respected from what I understand.
