frenchpress Posted April 27, 2010 Author Posted April 27, 2010 Received my rejection letter in the mail today. Did they include the peer review stuff? If so, how did the comments compare in helpfulness to the GRFP? Keeping an eye out for my rejection notice..
seaside Posted April 27, 2010 Posted April 27, 2010 Did they include the peer review stuff? If so, how did the comments compare in helpfulness to the GRFP? Keeping an eye out for my rejection notice.. Yup, they included hard copies of the peer review material, and the format is virtually identical to that of the GRFP. Came in a packet in a big manila envelope.
frenchpress Posted April 29, 2010 Author Posted April 29, 2010 I'm still waiting to hear anything. I wonder if there's a method to their madness because it seems like they're doing this very piecemeal.
UnlikelyGrad Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 I'm still waiting to hear anything. I wonder if there's a method to their madness because it seems like they're doing this very piecemeal. For those who have heard: did you hear by email or some other method?
EDUSCI Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 The number of people at my university that have been contacted, including myself, is up to three. Congrats on the fellowship! Do you know which FONs the students' received the grants through from your school? I'm looking for someone with info. on the Ecology/Water Quality (D2) FON...
Cacao412 Posted May 3, 2010 Posted May 3, 2010 FYI: Got my rejection letter in the mail today (May 3). Good luck to those who still havent heard.
UnlikelyGrad Posted May 4, 2010 Posted May 4, 2010 I got mine today too. I wish they'd sent it in a smaller envelope--the big manila envelope in my mailbox sent my hopes skyrocketing. They crashed soon enough.
science time Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 Have any of the finalists received any further contact/information (email, usps or otherwise) regarding the next steps?
outdoorathon Posted May 13, 2010 Posted May 13, 2010 It seems like decisions are still being made. I'm in the global change FON, and hadn't heard anything. I finally got ahold of someone today, and I said I was still in the running, and expect to hear something in the next week. So good luck to those who haven't heard, except those competing with me. Have any of the finalists received any further contact/information (email, usps or otherwise) regarding the next steps?
crimsonengineer87 Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 To past applicants or anyone who knows, does anyone have some sort of statistics or the competitiveness of each of the different FONs? http://www.epa.gov/ncer/rfa/2011/2011_star_gradfellow.html (i.e. Global Change vs. Terrestrial Ecosystems) Thanks!
