yungbuck Posted January 18, 2020 Posted January 18, 2020 Hi all! Just checking in to see if any folks had anything of note to say about CU Boulder's Education PhD programs (applied to Education Foundations, Policy and Practice but also interested in Learning Science & Human Development). I believe EFPP is one of their most selective programs (nationally ranked) but I wanted to get some feedback about selectivity, reputation, and strengths/weaknesses of the school and faculty. Pretty certain they just released their finalist weekend invites, anyone going? I hear the school gives full-ride packages to all admitted students. Also, if any past applicants or current students are seeing this, how was finalist weekend and what can we expect? Many thanks!

I was invited to the finalist weekend, which I gather from other posts is really more of a "welcome" weekend. I have my flights booked I also visited their open house last year. There is a lot of good work comming out of there... definitely feel like it is a rising star. More than anything I would prioritize the connection with your Professor of Interest and the work being done there. For this reason I am very seriously still considering it although I also got an interview with the University of Michigan and was admitted to UCI. Will you be attending in February?

I will be attending! Which program did you apply to if you don't mind me asking? I was hoping to work with EFPP profs; I'm excited to meet the other finalists. Is there anything about Boulder that stands out to you moreso than UCI or Michigan? All are great options, congrats
ed.applicant Posted January 28, 2021 Posted January 28, 2021 Hi all! I'm applying to CU Boulder's program (LSHD track) and have been invited to the Finalists Weekend. @FwdThnkr, did you manage to attend last year's event? Was it really like a "welcome weekend"? I also received a sort of informal acceptance email from a UCI professor (track: TLEI) and have been invited to UPenn's "Doctoral Candidate Session" + interviews. Prety excited and anxious. Which school did you choose, by the way, if you you don't mind sharing? Best
