I have been admitted to USC(PhD of Public Policy and Management) and Syracuse (PhD of Social Science) with full scholoarship, covering 3 years of tuition, health insurance and living expenses.

For the USC program, I will probably do research in the Center of Civic Engagement, which has a great reputation in this field. The initial advisor is a well established professor and still active in academic research. I was on the waiting list and just got in a couple of days ago.

The Syracuse program is an interdisciplinary one. I am able to choose courses in Maxwell school for the research topics of my interest. While I am given greater flexibilty, I have to assume greater responsibility for my own study.

I think both schools are good. It seems the USC program is more focused and has a better location. Can anyone give me some advice on the pros and cons of the two programs. Many thanks!!
