Hi everyone. I graduated from Rutgers University with a cumulative GPA of 3.5/4.0 in two majors: Math and Economics. I interned for 6 months as an actuarial assistant and I now work at a boutique private equity firm. I want to apply to a list of Financial Engineering/Mathematics programs I’ve looked into, but I really don’t know where I would stand. I put together the following list of schools:
Rutgers Newark, Rutgers New Brunswick, Stevens University, Fordham University, and Baruch College.
I plan to work long enough to comfortably pay for the program. Many of my undergraduate professors have mentioned that paying out of pocket increases your chances of acceptance. Also, I have received recommendation letters from various professors who have attended programs from Stevens University and Rutgers New Brunswick.
I’d appreciate anyone who can guide me through my credentials and recommend anything to help being admitted.
