I honestly haven't done much research on programs that are good for postcolonial studies, let alone one with a focus on South Asia but I do know that UPenn is particularly strong in this field.

UPenn for sure. Emory as well. Brandeis and WUSTL also have profs who do interesting work in this area. This is one of my fields of interest, so I've spent some time looking into it.

she spoke at a conference i attended in february and was fabulously brilliant. she also seems very down to earth (attended panels, interacted with presenters and attendees - didn't just speak and leave like some other keynote speakers i've encountered).

I took a class with her. She *is* lovely. A bit on the disorganized/vague side as far as running the class, but I could sit and listen to her for hours.
