Angel_bluesky
Hello, I have been reading here for a while but just joined. I have a long background in employee training/mentoring, management and conflict resolution in a senior analyst role. I have been researching MSW degrees for a while for a non BSW background. I am looking at MSW at Laurier since it's online but I can see its very competitive even for people with lots of social services experience. Is anyone aware of other online part time MSW programs which will allow you to be licensed in Ontario and won't cost like $50K? I see Yorkville etc for counselling psychology but they seem very expensive and not sure how flexible they are. Any feedback would be appreciated! ErinCM
Laurier is the only option for non-BSW route offered online in Canada.
Angel_bluesky
Thank you ErinCM! For Laurier do you know if they even consider applicants who don't have 2 years of human services experience? I also need to do the quantitative methodology course which I can't find online. I did Statistics in my undergrad but I don't think that will count.
ErinCM
Honestly, I have not met anyone in the program with less than 6-7 years of experience. Most of us have about a decade. It doesn't mean they wouldn't consider it, but I think you would have to have an absolutely amazing application in all other areas. The enrollment advisors are very helpful so you could contact them and they will tell you if it is worth applying. Good luck.
