Hi all! Not sure if this is at all the right place to ask this question, but I am desperate for an answer. I am leaving on a fulbright to teach, and recently found out that medicaid will stop covering me if i am out of the country for more than 30 days. This is a problem, because I need refills on prescriptions, and can't really afford a supplementary insurance--plus, Fulbright's emergency coverage won't help.
Has anyone dealt with this situation before? How have you managed it? Was anyone miraculously able to keep their medicaid while they were abroad? If not, did you have problems reapplying?
