Yale's Statistics Department seems to be very strong with amazing faculty and some big names. I wonder why it is ranked so low relative to other departments? Could this be because of its small size?

I am deciding between Yale and UW for Stats Master and am having a tough time. Yale seems like a great department but the ranking concerns me a bit.

Anyone have any knowledge to compare the two schools and their masters programs? I am still unsure if I want to pursue a phd or go to industry after the program so I am looking for the one that will provide greatest flexibility after.

@umichmydrm it it University of Washington's  Master of Science: Advanced Methods and Data Analysis which does have a capstone but no thesis, this is the only statistics MS they offer.
