fishervsbayes Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 Yale's Statistics Department seems to be very strong with amazing faculty and some big names. I wonder why it is ranked so low relative to other departments? Could this be because of its small size? I am deciding between Yale and UW for Stats Master and am having a tough time. Yale seems like a great department but the ranking concerns me a bit. Anyone have any knowledge to compare the two schools and their masters programs? I am still unsure if I want to pursue a phd or go to industry after the program so I am looking for the one that will provide greatest flexibility after.
umichmydrm Posted March 5, 2020 Posted March 5, 2020 For the UW Master program, are you talking about the thesis one or the capstone one.
fishervsbayes Posted March 5, 2020 Author Posted March 5, 2020 @umichmydrm it it University of Washington's Master of Science: Advanced Methods and Data Analysis which does have a capstone but no thesis, this is the only statistics MS they offer.
