Taurus26 Posted March 23, 2020 Posted March 23, 2020 (edited) A little bit of a rant here. I am in my last couple of months in my MA program - and my defense/all responsibilities have been moved to online roles. I am submitting my thesis at the end of this week, and my university has closed it's doors. My program is across the country from my family, and I want to return home more than anything especially given the rumors that domestic flights (U.S.) might be shutting down. I have been self-isolating for the past two weeks, and it has taken a toll on my mental health. My supervisor has denied this request however, for no good reason. I am getting very frustrated, but unsure if I can actually do anything about this. Thanks for listening haha. Edited March 23, 2020 by Taurus26
history110 Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 I don't have any good advice, but that sounds very unfair and I'm sorry! If your duties are online anyway it seems like you should be allowed to do them online from home...
Polarpeak Posted March 25, 2020 Posted March 25, 2020 I'd just go... not like he can see where your working from. If he catches wind "family emergency". history110 1
Artistinquarantine Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 Please, share your experience in my post. I wrote about mine as well. Thanks
Artistinquarantine Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 Up to a week ago I was in your situation. My program is in Italy and US travel advisory pretty much forced the issue and my school really could not stop us from leaving. We are finishing out degrees up online.
