Hello! I have been accepted into the MDiv programs at Duke Divinity and Princeton Theological Seminary. It is wonderful to have a choice between two great schools, but I wish that it was a little easier to choose! I plan on pursuing a PhD (probably in systematic theology or ethics) after completing my MDiv, and do not necessarily have an allegiance to either the Methodist or the Presbyterian denomination. Does anyone have any thoughts on either of these programs? I keep hearing that pedigree makes a difference in applying to PhD programs, but it seems that both of these programs are on par with each other on that account. Does anyone disagree? PTS would be a little less expensive, but I don't want it to completely come down to money. I am married, but my wife seems to be excited to go to either of these places. I have found faculty at both places with whom I would love to study too. If anyone happens to have the inside scoop, I would love to hear other people's thoughts on some differences between these two programs. Thank you all for your help!

I say Duke all the way. Check out my comments on the Duke vs. Emory post someone started earlier. I can get more specific about my thoughts on both schools (bear in mind that I went to Duke for the MTS only visited PTS) in a private message, if you'd like. Peace.
