Helppppp, Interview for PhD in Business!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi guys,

I'm so excited to get my first interview appointment with my dream school after 3 rejections (applied to 5). But I'm also very anxious now , I dont know what they are gonna ask, how long the interview lasts.

Please share with me your experience, this would be of great help to me.

Congratulations on the interview!

I had one informal and one formal interview at CUNY. Both were really about preparation and fit -- lots of personality/self-assessment questions (e.g. are you more spontaneous or more of a planner?) that have no real "right" answer, but do beg for examples to support the answer. I was also asked why I wanted to go there, and if I were admitted to NYU (the other place I applied), why I would choose CUNY.

The best advice I got on the application process as a whole was to just be myself and let the adcomm really get to know me. There are so many applicants who try to game the process, saying what they think they're "supposed" to say, and it's, apparently, very boring to listen to. IMHO, humility and a bit of humor can carry one a long way...
