Student Type: Domestic Caucasian Male Undergrad: Top 40 university, not well known for the math department Major: Math, Economics, and Computer Science (triple major) GPA: 3.92 Relevant Courses: Probability, Statistical Inference, Econometrics (Graduate Level), Computer Science I & II, Information Theory, Systems & Networks, Real Analysis, Linear Algebra, Games & Strategic Behavior, Stochastic Processes (Graduate Level), Algorithms, Topics in Mathematical Econ GRE: 164 Q, 165 V, 5 W Research: Summer REU working with a well known professor on computational biology research Econometrics research for a less well known professor Senior Capstone project on investigation of the Smoluchowski Equation Senior Capstone project on sentiment analysis of major news publications Letters of Recommendation: 2 letters that are hopefully strong from two professors that I have worked with on the Econometrics project and the Smoluchowski Equation project. 1 letter from the CEO of the start-up I have worked at as an analyst for the last two years. I worked directly for the CEO. Not sure how I stack up relative to other applicants so I would appreciate feedback on the strength of my application and recommendations of potential schools to consider. Thank you very much.
Stat Assistant Professor Posted August 11, 2020 Posted August 11, 2020 Your profile looks pretty strong. I think you should apply mainly to top 30 PhD programs, with a few "safer" options for good measure.
