I'm doing it this summer. I know Berkeley is a great school, but I'm wondering how prospective grad schools will view the Greek workshop? Will it look good or just be treated like any regular Greek course taking during the regular semester? Ideally it would be great if prospective grad schools take into account the fact that the workshop is extremely intensive and realize that 1) I'm committed to Greek and the classics field in general, 2) I can manage that kind of academic pressure well. Should I make any mention of these things in the sop or let it speak for itself? And does anyone here have any personal or second-hand experience of this beast? I'm terrified that I'll crash and burn. I've done intensive Latin successfully, but that was 10 hours of instruction per week, and this is something like 40 hours.

Come time to apply for grad school, I will have taken at least five Greek courses, in addition to the Berkeley Greek workshop. I'm extremely worried if that's enough for competitive programs. Reassurances?

And could someone tell me what a "year of Greek/Latin" means? Is one year = two courses of the language (one in each semester)?
