Candylove Posted September 20, 2020 Posted September 20, 2020 Hi. I plan on applying to Canadian MSW programs. I had to take a break in my studies so it made it longer between classes. Is it ok to ask professors from 5 to 6 years ago for a reference? Should I only ask for a reference from my senior level classes?
RyanS Posted October 11, 2020 Posted October 11, 2020 Yes, it's okay to ask for a letter from a few years ago, but I would mix it with more current letters from employers. Since you're applying to a professional field, the academic letter would be best from someone who can speak to your professionalism (particularly your people skills) and your likelihood of succeeding in the field of social work.
