Question

Posted

I took my GRE recently and got a 292. I have 6 years of relevant work experience as a Business Analyst and working in client management and also have spent time volunteering at schools tutoring at risk children in reading comprehension and math. Would it be best to retake it as I'm just a few points short of the average score (305 or so) or do you think I may stand a good chance standing out as an applicant? Thank you.

It depends on the programs that you wish to apply. (competitiveness, ranking, their requirements) But many schools are eliminating GRE requirements though.

If the school that you want to apply still wants the GRE, 310+ would be more of a safe range, in my opinion, in order to secure the funding.

However, I think they'll consider other aspects of your application as well (GPA, references, experiences, SOP, etc).

Good luck on your application!
