Admission timing

Question

Posted

Hi!

Im looking to submit my grad school applications soon (to UCL, KCL, LSE, Oxbridge) for PolSci/Philosophy MAs, and I am unsure as to the importance of the timing. More specifically, I could either send in my application now (with a roughly 80% complete transcript of records) or send it in in 2 weeks as soon as I have the grade for my thesis, which would put the transcript at something closer to 90% completion. Id be happy if anybody was able to offer some advice regarding whether earlier timing helps a lot in applications / if more complete transcripts matter etc.

Another related question is: My transcript of records shows some bad or at least suboptimal grades for subjects that dont matter for the final grades. Therefore, when looking at my transcript, one wouldnt immediately assume my assessment of my current prospective grade was truthful. Should I explain that in some way or do you think admissions departments will be used to different formulas to calculate final grades and will therefore believe the prospective final grade I put down in the form?

Thanks so much in advance for your help!
