Question

Posted

I am a Canadian Permanent Resident trying to switch into the User Experience career from tech. Last year, I got into the UofT iSchool program with no funding and the HEC Montréal MSc in UX (in English) with a full ride and stipend. I differed my admissions due to COVID but this year I need to decide. I don't want to spend money on my education because I have other financial obligations and I really liked the Montréal vibe more than Toronto. However, I am not fluent in French but I have taken 1.5 years of French and am able to converse on very simple topics. Can people in Montréal or anywhere in Canada comment about the chances of getting work or internships in Montréal in UX? If not in Montréal, can HEC grads find work in Ottawa or Toronto?

Can I ask about your qualifications and background? I'm waiting very eagerly to hear back from the UX program. Have you chosen which school you'll attend?
