lolwat Posted May 8, 2010 Posted May 8, 2010 (edited) Hello everyone! I'm currently a sophomore at a state university - UGA - that boasts a respectable MPA program and I'm wondering whether an MPA is right for me. I'll have the option to graduate undergrad. in 3 years or take a 4th year for a master's (so if I do pursue an MPA it will be at UGA). Ultimately I hope to go to law school and work in administrative law. Here's the problem: I am not a math person. I've taken Calc I and some basic Stat courses to meet the MPA pre-reqs but I have no desire to take more math beyond that. I've managed to struggle through those courses with decent grades (mostly B's) but feel that my grasp is very tenuous and I would struggle to apply my math skills to policy analysis. As I said above, I want to work in administrative law so I initially thought an MPA would be helpful insofar as it seemed like a good way to learn more about the function of government. Now, I'm not certain that's the right approach. In a nutshell, are my desires to learn about public administration while also avoiding math incompatible? Is an MPA cut out for me? Any thoughts or suggestions (UGA-specific or general MPA) would be greatly appreciated. Edited May 8, 2010 by lolwat
