Penn MSSP

Anyone here get a decision from the University of Pennsylvania's MSSP program already?? I was surprised to get my offer today (applied by the Dec. 15 scholarship deadline), as I thought decisions didn't come until February at the earliest.

 

And if you did, assuming your scholarship/funding offer was in the letter as well. Any thoughts on the advantage of Penn given the high cost? Got an okay scholarship and it's only one year so it's not exactly ridiculous, but I know other programs (like IU Bloomington's MPA) are pretty good and offer decent funding as well. Is Penn's MSSP really worth the money for the quality of the program, or is a lot of it name recognition?

the one year program is not worth the money imo, you pay more for the name than the program. The two year +DA program is ok but doing CMU's program would give more

Hey there, what did you finally decide with respect to UPenn's MSSP+DA? I've applied to it as well and I'm waiting to hear back from them. The whole school search was a little challenging for me, so any opinions or suggestions that you share would be super helpful for the next cycle that I apply to. Many thanks in advance!

I applied for just the MSSP and am still on the fence. Atm I'm leaning away from it because of cost, esp since I was offered full tuition elsewhere and I think I could probably make more connections/do better research in a longer program. Waiting on a funding reevaluation for Penn, but unless they somehow give me a ton more I don't think I'll end up there...

Got it. Thanks so much! Please would it be possible for you to share the list of places you applied to and the one giving you a full ride? If they are still taking applications I'll start applying to them as well. I'm basically getting lost in the list of programs and the ones that are generally good enough to apply to.. I'm an international applicant and hence information I have access to is generally very skewed. So any information or advice that i get from you might be super helpful and balanced.
