Does Stanford EE interview everyone to admit into the PhD program?

A lot of folks were already accepted into the EE PhD program at Stanford. If you were not called for interview yet, should you think you have no chance anymore? Anyone got accepted without being interviewed?

I have been interviewed in Jan but haven't heard anything regarding an admission or rejection yet. The interviews were 30min long and I had the impression that they went well, however from what I see they don't matter much. At any rate, this apparent "batch" of admits kind of disappointed me, even though I had good interviews, my chances look slim now. Man, this wait game really hurts...

Regarding your actual question, I do not know if not being interviewed means anything, but if I were to guess, you were either too good or familiar to a POI so that didn't need the interview, or you are waitlisted/rejected outright. I have literally zero experience though, so take it with a grain of salt.

Well, good luck man. You got called for the interview, that at least keeps you a lot ahead of others!
