I know most people here are gunning for top 20 programs but I was wondering about some other smaller/lesser known programs. I got in Washington State with pretty decent funding so I'm seriously considering them. Does anyone know any specific about this program, besides that they are adjunct with their criminal justice program? BTW, I'm in American politics.

Yes, if you make your advisor Cornell Clayton in law and courts you can overcome the lesser name brand of WSU and still find a good shot at tenure track. That said, he is a Law and Courts guy (Americanist) but I don't know if Law and Courts is your area. In any event, he's by far their biggest name there and he can place you within the Law and Courts niche.

WSU is good only if you have the best adviser, or are willing to work at a 4-4. The department is undergoing turmoil, so think twice before heading there. Only the best survive WSU to get a job.
