I couldn't find a thread for applicants for the upcoming school year. I know decisions will start being released soon!

I looking forward to hearing back soon as well!

When did you submit your app? I submitted mine Feb 10th so I should hopefully hear back next week because that will be the 6 week mark.

I submitted on Jan. 15th and I have yet to receive a decision from them. I called recently and I was notified that my application had not been reviewed and I should expect to get a decision by the first week of April.

Mine will probably be around the same time then if you haven't heard back yet. I might call tomorrow to see if they've started reviewing applications yet.

@mswfl21 - Did you try and call them today?

I called today but wasn't able to get through to anyone so I'll just go visit the office Monday when I get back on campus.

Congrats to both of you! I think they said they will give information about assistantships sometime in April.

@ngiduz I got an email saying there was an update on my application from graduate admissions and then the next day the School of Social Work sent me their acceptance letter. I didn't apply for TA though. Have you tried looking at your portal?

Congrats to all of you!

Same here: Email for UGA email address, then updated 3 hours later on app status. The next morning I received an email from MSW program about being accepted.

Does anyone have any information about the MSW program there and people's experience?

Also, I will be moving back to the US and I've been very nervous about moving back and esp nervous about Georgia. The Anti-Asian hate has got me pretty scared, and more so since the Atlanta mass shooting a few weeks ago.

Can anyone give me some insight about Atlanta and if there are many QBIPOC and AAPI spaces there?

@HeyMSW Based on what I've heard from people that are in the program, it's a good program. They all enjoy it. I'm not too sure about course-load and stuff though. I think things have been okay in terms of the communities. There are many organizations on campus and in Athens that are very supportive and welcoming so you just have to find the right fit for you. I haven't been in Atlanta in a while but I guess it all depends on where you go in regards to the hate and racism. I think that goes for everywhere in the U.S. tbh. Overall though, Atlanta is known for diversity.
