I was accepted to the Statistical Science MSc program at University of Toronto and I would like some advice before accepting the offer. To be specific, my goal in pursing a graduate degree in statistics is to finally get a PhD in this field. So my questions are:

1. How hard is it to continue on a PhD (still in Statistics department at UofT) after finishing this Master's program? How many Master's student each year actually end up in PhD?

2. Are there any research opportunities open to international students like me? Apart from research, what would be your advice for someone who hope to pursue a PhD in statistics?

3. I know the rank of UofT statistics department is quite high, but how would you current/former student say about this department? Like how's the faculty?

4. If I fail to get into PhD, how is the job prospective (in Canada) after this one-year Master's program?
