I have recently been accepted into NYU’s Steinhardt for a Master in English Education at the College level and accepted for a Masters of English at UCI. Ultimately I would like to use my degree to teach at a community college level to begin with and then expanding to higher universities.
My difficulty in this decision is which would be the best option and I have been stumped. I would love the experience and program at NYU and being able to live in NYU in my early 20’s. However the tuition at NYU is about double what I would be paying at UCI.
I am a california resident and to complete the program I would probably come out paying $30,000 or less due to personal benefits received there. Whereas for NYU I think I would come out paying about $70,000 in tuition alone.
I dont know if the experience and prestige of NYU is worth that much money to me?
