I got phd offers from both Wisconsin Madison in Biomedical Data Science and Umass Amherst in Biostatistics. The stipend is similar and both schools have solid statistics department and great medical school. Madison is 3-hours drive from Chicago and Amherst is 2-hours drive from Boston. Wisconsin seems to have better reputation and more resources while I don't think umass loses on those two points. Another big pro for Umass is that I'm currently live in Boston and it will be more convenient for me to move to amherst instead of madison. Any advice is appreciated!
