Iam looking into a Master's in Fashion Studies—I have a BFA in dance from a liberal arts school and I hope to move in the direction of an interdisciplinary program that could potentially lead me to the fashion industry. This may sound extremely general, but I am interested in the intersection of fashion, culture, identity, sexuality, and movementand how that translates to fashion marketing/advertising. I'm from Canada so I will need to find a program that offers an F1 visa. I've been researching schools and there is Parsons, of course, FIT, and even the NYU Luxury MBA. Unfortunately, these are way out of my budget, and I stumbled upon the Liberal Arts MA with a concentration in Fashion Studies at The Graduate Center @ CUNY, which caught my attention. There is little about this program online so I was wondering if anyone has heard of it?
Are there any other (affordable) programs in or around NYC that would be suitable for me? I've received a lot of feedback encouraging me to move into a more general area for a Master's such as marketing or business, but with such little work experience in those fields, I am unsure if I would be accepted into any programs.
