CT2019 Posted May 14, 2021 Posted May 14, 2021 Is there a forum to discuss recently published papers? I’d like to increase my exposure to topics outside my area of interest and typically learn better if I am actively engaging with the material. I would also relish the chance to learn from the varying perspectives of my peers. This forum seems more focused on applying to PhD programs — is there another for current PhD candidates? Thanks in advance for your help.
Stencil Posted May 17, 2021 Posted May 17, 2021 I'm not aware of anything like this, but I think that participating in a community like that would be a great opportunity for current grad students and I'm glad that you brought this up. Anyone else have any suggestions?
Glasperlenspieler Posted May 18, 2021 Posted May 18, 2021 I'm not a Discord user, but I do know there are certainly Discord groups for this purpose. You would just have to gen an invite. Twitter has lots of problems and one would be justified in wanting to stay away from it, but there is actually a really good community of philosophy undergrads, grad students, and professors, who frequently get into quite enlightening discussions about various aspects of philosophy.
