futureproof Posted October 26, 2021 Posted October 26, 2021 Hello everyone! Been lurking for a while, and finally decided to make an account. Harvard GSE has a new online Master's in Education Leadership program and I was interested in it. However, the website is somewhat sparse, and I had questions. Since there hasn't been a graduating class yet, maybe that's why the information is so hard to come by, but perhaps someone here may be able to provide assistance. 1) Is there anywhere we can go to see a full list of courses for the curriculum? I can only see the foundations courses, common to all HGSE M.Ed programs, and that it has a higher education pathway (what I'm interested in). I'd be interested to see the full range of classes as well. 2) I see that it is a two-year, part-time program. Are there a set number of courses for a student to enroll in during each semester? Additionally, since there are synchronous meetings and the place I live in is basically the opposite time zone of the USA (Taiwan), will there be multiple options to choose from? For example, a class that meets at, say, 10:00 AM EST would be okay for me to do, as would a class that means at 7:00 PM EST, but not one at 3:00 PM EST. 3) For the brief residential experiences, what is their duration and when are they usually held? 4) I have not been a teacher in a public school, but I have had over 8 years of experience being a language instructor at various places and owning my own language academy. Does this sound like it counts for the 7+ years of work experience they suggest? 5) While it's a new program, is it likely to have a similar acceptance rate to the rest of the M.Ed programs? Peterson's claims 54%, which I am highly skeptical about. 6) Will online students have access to cross-registration at the Business school? I'd be interested in taking one or two business school classes. Thank you so much!
