calicody Posted February 4, 2022 Posted February 4, 2022 Hi everyone – I'm feeling stumped about whether I should fill out the FAFSA form for graduate school. I don't think I will be eligible for need-based aid, but at least one of the schools I'm applying to has merit scholarships available. Will I hurt my chances of getting aid directly from the school if I disclose my assets on FAFSA? Or am I less likely to receive school-specific aid if I don't send a FAFSA form? For context, I work full time with a non-profit salary, and would continue working in two of the three graduate schools I'm considering. I've been saving for a home for several years and am assuming those assets would likely make me ineligible for need-based aid, though I would be grateful for any opportunity to hang onto some of those savings. Thanks for any advice!
