What is a good introduction to the ideas of Jürgen Habermas?

In particular, I am interested in Habermas's theory of communication, his discourse ethics and his understanding of modernity. I know he has a book called 'communicative rationality' but its extremely long and I don't want to commit to attempting to tackle it just get. Are there other, shorter works where he presents his ideas that anyone can recommend?
