should I give up if I haven't heard by the decision deadline date which is March 18th?

The day is over.... I emailed them on monday asking for an update and they basically said the admissions committee has not yet finalized the admission decisions for the second round of applications and as such is unable to provide an update on your file.

 

I guess waiting for the rejection email to come through, just frustrating that they couldn't let me know earlier.

I'm in the same boat. I made the waitlist for my dream program and was crushed to say the least. For some reason, it just feels like this terrible limbo where the rejection is just drawn out longer... and knowing the first round of admission decisions have to be accepted by next week, I'm assuming I will either hear by then or after next Friday whether I was rejected (Which at this point I am unfortunately expecting), or whether I have a chance to be interviewed in the second round. It's excruciating especially since I only applied to two programs. Waitlisted for my top choice, still waiting on #2. Maybe I was too confident... regrets are forming to say the least lol

Stay positive! It isn't over until it's over, right? (that's what is keeping me afloat) you're not alone.

It feels like like HELL. especially for the last month or so trying to enjoy anything without this popping up on my mind anywhere I go. I keep having to remind myself that this not the end of the world & everything will be fine one way or another. I'm trying to convince myself that its a rejection at this point while on the other hand want to have some hope.  Worst of all its the weekend and won't hear anything till at least Monday, ruining my weekends one weekend at a time.  

 

And uh the regret part has started forming for me already but fingers crossed we have SOME news by next week at least or I'm gonna lose my mind. 

I hope you hear back too. Waitlist is at least better than having no answer, I suggest you email the committee about their timeline. I had a friend who was on waitlist and she was top 3-4 on the list they didnt say exactly where in the ranking she was and this was after her interview. She emailed them and basically got accepted at 8:30pm within couple of days.  I'm not saying this is how it works everywhere but if you're on a waitlist and they see you're showing more interest than the others by emailing who knows what they'll do when they're trying to make their decision.

I actually emailed them hours after making the waitlist asking the same questions (where am I on the waitlist, how can I strengthen my application, this is my dream program, etc.). This was Feb 2 and they responded the next day saying I'll hear back in the next several weeks. Now I'm sitting here like .... it's been several weeks let me know what's up PLEASE. i dont wanna email too much but also cant stand not knowing.

I'm in the same boat except I am not on the waiting list and the decision deadline was on the 18th... I DONT KNOW WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON, driving me insane. Like THEY MUST KNOW IF IM REJECTED OR NOT AT THIS POINT. I've emailed them once already, I don't know what to do now. Till when am I supposed to wait without going insane lol although I'm trying to accept the fact that its a rejection (but its hard)
