Graduate School Advice

Jad Yahya

Question

So I got admission offers from the following universities:

TU Delft: MSc control and systems

ETHZ: MSc in mechanical engineering

Umich Ann Arbor: MSc in mechanical engineeirng (subplan automotive engineering)

UC Berkeley: M.Eng in mechanical engineering (focus in Control of Robotic and Autonomous Systems)

However, I am a bit confused on which program to go with. My heart wants Berkeley so bad. Although I plan to get a job in the automotive field after my masters (in the US), I am afraid the M.Eng option might restrict my chances. With financials aside, I would appreciate some advice.

Thanks!

Disclaimer that MechE isn't my field, but MSc vs MEng doesn't seem to be a very big difference. Especially given that Berkeley is one of the best engineering schools in the US, you'll easily find a job in the US after graduation. The skills you gained from the program matter a lot more than the title of the degree itself.
