lostintranslation9999 Posted March 29, 2022 Posted March 29, 2022 I had a funding hiccup with the school I was going to attend- to make a long story short I was encouraged to apply to a funded MS by a PI who I share many interests with because we thought we were going to get a grant renewal on the project I had already worked on with her during my undergrad. (According to my PI, I had almost the first chapter of my thesis research done so the potential to publish more was motivating me to stay.) The grant renewal got denied and no other PIs in this department study similar topics to what I want to do, so I had to find another school. By the time I was notified of this it was the end of February. In my scrambles, I found UMich was still taking late applicants- I applied 3/1/22 for a funded masters in Molecular, Cellular, & Developmental Biology. However, I have not heard back from them yet. The app deadline to submit was 3/15. So here are my questions Has anyone going for Biology programs at UMich heard back? Seeing other acceptances has me a little worried, does this mean I am going to get denied? (Stats- first gen, 3.3 cum, 3.6 major gpa, 2.5 years research experience, 2 posters, possibly 1 paper first author). Will my late application hurt me?
