Akroc Posted April 8, 2022 Posted April 8, 2022 Hi guys, I submitted my application to NYU and Columbia MA in Political Science programs on Jan 15 and Feb 7 but haven't heard from these schools yet. It makes me really nervous as it's already early April while the admission office usually sends offers in mid/late March. Probably I've got a very low chance to get admitted to these two schools? I thought this would be a bit easier... Background: international student, U of Rochester, GPA 3.85+, an internship experience in a law firm and a competition experience, no research or TA
snowp89 Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 Hey! I still haven't heard back either. I'm hoping to hear by April 15th ?
AnomalousApplicant Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 (edited) I understand being nervous. I am, too. I am confused about how certain aspects of the admissions process works. I've applied to a PhD program. It is April 14th, and I don't know where I stand. I've heard that some graduate programs waitlist applicants without telling them, but is there any special reason why they do not want to tell people that they've been waitlisted? Ignore the schools listed in my signature: They are not up-to-date, and I cannot seem to edit. Edited April 14, 2022 by AnomalousApplicant Knight64 1
snowp89 Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 I'm honestly not sure. I have been wondering the same thing. I'm really hoping to hear by this week so I can make a decision. This has been the only one I haven't heard back from and its getting frustrating since its my first choice. AnomalousApplicant 1
Akroc Posted April 18, 2022 Author Posted April 18, 2022 Hello guys, Here's an update. I received an offer from NYU MA in polisci this afternoon. Rejected by Columbia, accepted to Georgetown MA in democracy and governance, and accepted to UR Simon Business School MSBA. I hope the rest of you who are still waiting will get a big surprise! Best wishes

I was told that I was on a waitlist and they are still trying to make decisions. This was for a sociology program. Edited April 27, 2022 by AnomalousApplicant
Tfew Posted January 14, 2023 Posted January 14, 2023 Thought I would bring this always relavent discussion back! I have now applied to 5 schools for the Fall 2023 session. University of Oregon, University of Idaho, Montana State, West Virginia University, and DePaul. University of Oregon closes their application window 12/5, it is now 1/14 and I have not heard. DePaul has rolling admissions and I just submitted. I believe the rest of the schools have deadlines ranging from 1/15 to 2/4. My undergrad GPA is 3.95, one A- in my final semester sunk the 4.0! I wonder if anyone has heard from the University of Oregon?
