Pursue a program where you had network in roads in spite of the fact the program isn't a priority on your list? My past work does share a common perspective with this program, but the school does not give out full funding packages because tuition has only been but by half for most students. Aside from that I don't mind the school, but I don't want to use it as a safety if it will potentially mess up a relationship with an old professor.
