microkernel Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Hi guys, I am applying for MS in Computer Science, but my UG is in Electronics and Communications. So, to improve my chances I planned to give Subject test. I have subject test on November 13th. And I can only expect results by mid December. But I want to get done with the Application process by November end. So, my question is, Should I mention on my SOP or anywhere on the application that I am giving GRE-CS or awaiting results. Is it necessary? or sending scores later without previously mentioning about it is OK? Because, if I screw-up my exams, then I don't want to send my results and give another reason for admission committee to reject me . As I am moving from Electronics and Communications Engineering to Computer Science, Admission committee will not be very kind with my application. Please share your thoughts. Regards, Microkernel
newms Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 (edited) Most applications have a section in the online app form that allows you to put in your GRE scores - some schools will allow you to modify these after the deadline since they know that a lot of students wont have their GRE scores until the end of December. You can also have the scores sent to the schools after you have submitted your app online. Check with individual schools to make sure, but I think you can just send them when you get them in December. Edited August 15, 2010 by newms
newms Posted August 15, 2010 Posted August 15, 2010 Perhaps this thread would be helpful to you. Since the GRE Score will be available by phone on Dec 13 for the Nov 13 test, and most schools have a deadline of Dec 15 you should know your scores before the deadline for most schools.
