I'm applying to English MA programs for the Fall 2023 semester and none of them require that I take the GRE, although about half of the programs do consider GRE scores if they're submitted (while the other half do not accept GRE scores at all).
Is it worth it to take the exam for the few programs that consider GRE scores (but don't require them) or is it not as important as other parts of my application (like my writing sample, letters of rec, my personal statement)?
