audreyhorne Posted March 11, 2008 Posted March 11, 2008 Does anyone have any info about when the SSHRC PhD fellowships are being awarded this year? I haven't been able to find anything more specific than the SSHRC website, which says the results will be announced sometime in April. I'm just hoping to hear back before the 15th!
Lizzy23 Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 You should. Sometimes, the decisions are known as early as during the last week of March, though I was told that early April is the norm.
dudemaster Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Yeah I got the big letter in Feb saying my application had been put on the A-list and that decisions would be made on the 1st of April - not sure if this also means mailed on 1st of April or by what postal service. I'm in Victoria so it should take as long as possible for mail to get to me here from Ottawa. Haven't heard yet, hopefully will in the next couple of days.
audreyhorne Posted April 8, 2008 Author Posted April 8, 2008 I think people are starting to hear back about the MA grants, but I've heard no word on the PhD fellowships yet...
nimbo Posted April 11, 2008 Posted April 11, 2008 They're really keeping us in suspense... Rumour has it that it will be closer to the end of April for the doctoral SSHRCs.
audreyhorne Posted April 11, 2008 Author Posted April 11, 2008 I emailed SSHRC to see if I could get some info and they told me: "The results will be mailed out by regular mail by the beginning of May." Basically it could be anytime between now and early May. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate what SSHRC does for grad students, but they're killing me this year.
nimbo Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 SSHRC results are out! They were posted on an internal website this past Friday and are available to the administrators in Canadian departments. I was informed that I received a SSHRC by my department's grad secretary. The official letters went out in the mail on Monday, so you should hear something soon!
