Farhan Tanvir Posted November 7, 2022 Posted November 7, 2022 Hello! I am almost done with my PhD in CS at OSU. My research topic is Addressing Drug-related problems (Therapeutics) using Graph Mining Techniques. I want to pursue a postdoc next year. I want to expand my research to precision medicine or cancer drug discovery. I don't have much knowledge about renowned professors in these area. Can you please recommend some great professors working on precision medicine or cancer drug discovery? It will be a great help.
TeamArdigen007 Posted Thursday at 09:31 PM Posted Thursday at 09:31 PM Congrats on finishing your PhD, that’s a big milestone! For postdoc in precision medicine or cancer drug discovery there are many strong groups. Some well known professors are Trey Ideker (UCSD, works on network biology and precision oncology), Eytan Ruppin (NCI, does cancer systems biology), and Aviv Regev (now at Genentech, still active in single cell and computational drug discovery). Also many labs in Europe like at EMBL or ETH Zurich do great work in this space. If you are interested more on industry–academia bridge, AI-driven biotech groups like Ardigen are also pushing drug discovery using graph and ML approaches, could be useful inspiration for your direction. I would suggest shortlist the labs by both research fit and publication style, then reach out early since good postdoc spots fill fast.
